Mount Vernon Tour - December 17, 2011

Lead by Leise, we trekked up to George Washington's mansion and farm with a wonderful view of the Potomac River. Eight youth crew members and two adult leaders, Mr Brown and Mr Payne, came for the tour. First, we watched a 20 minute movie, learned how chocolate was made in the 18th century and saw the National Thanksgiving Turkey that was pardoned by President Obama. Lauren played the wrong turkey sound and made it mad! The loose chin skin turned bright red! Then, we toured the mansion and got a rare tour of the third floor. In the museum, there were these magnifcant looking gingerbread houses that represented the mansion
