What is the VLSC Training?
- VLSC training will be held over the Martin
Luther King Holiday
This is the premier youth-oriented team-building and leadership
training for ALL Venturing Scouts, combined with a fun Overnight
Lock-in!Pizza, movies and Root Beer (soda) that Night!
VLSC is the first level leadership development course for Venturing
Scouts. The course is divided into four modules:
- Vision
- Communication
- Organization
- Synergism
Once completed, a VLSC strip patch, which is worn on their
uniform, is available. After completing VLSC, Venturing Scouts
are encouraged to continue their leadership development by attending
a KODIAK leadership trek. VLSC is considered the first stage
of the overall Venturing Youth Leadership Development program
called Nature of Leadership.
The VLSC course is a requirement for several areas of recognition
in the Venturing program.
Advance registration is not required; but is always helpful,
registration is at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the church. Payment
is due at registration. Please bring with you a water bottle
and paper & pen for notes, as well as your toiletries bag,
and sleeping bag, mat and/or blankets. All other class materials
will be supplied (I think!). We will NOT
be supplying the VLSC shoulder tab as a part of this course,
please get with your unit advisor for that.
