OUTDOOR BRONZE AWARD

One of the differences about Venturing, other than it being Coed, and led by Venturers, is the degree to which Venturers approach outdoor skils. Many Venturers dont just learn outdoor skills, they go on to become highly proficient in those skills. Some of todays Venturers have become advanced scuba diers, technical rock climbers, deep cavers, and cross-country cyclists. If this sounds cool to you, earning the Outdoor Bronze award is a GREAT way to do it, and its one of the first steps Toward earning your RANGER award as well. The requirements for earning the Outdoor Bronze award are below. Do any four of the following core requirements:

  2. Wilderness Survival
  3. Communications
  4. Leave No Trace
  5. Cooking
  6. Land Navigation
  7. Emergency Preparedness
  8. Conservation

Do any two of the following elective requirements:

  1. Backpacking
  2. Cave Exploring
  3. Cycling/Mountain Biking
  4. Ecology
  5. Equestrian
  6. First Aid
  7. Fishing
  8. Hunting
  9. Lifesaver
  10. Mountaineering
  11. Outdoor Living History
  12. Physical Fitness
  13. Plants and Wildlife
  14. Project COPE
  15. Scuba Certification
  16. Shooting Sports
  17. Watercraft
  18. Winter Sports

Once you've earned the Outdoor Bronze award, you dont have to stop there either....Because of the desire on your part to experience life, and to give you a pathway to many different experiences, the Venturing Bronze Award is wide open to you. You can even earn all five Bronze awards. It's up to you!
