• Current plans for June and July are:
  • June 4th-6th - Rafting trip on the Youghiogheny River in southwestern PA. which has class 3 and 4's rapids.
  • June 12th - Natural Rock Climbing at Great Falls
  • June 15th - Flag Burning Ceremony at Quantico
  • On June 19th weekend, several crew members are headed for Goshen Scout Reservation for summer jobs as counselors, most for all 6 weeks till August 10th.
  • July 25th - we will provide service for the BSA Centenial Parade in downtown Washington, DC. We are registered as a Division Support unit, aiding with honor guards, flag bearers or Float walker or riders.
• On May 29th, the crew again helped with the annual Luminaria at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Cemetry on May 29th. The scene was both beautiful and somber.
• For Spring Break, the crew members ventured down to Peak Experiences in Richmond, VA for some climbing on rock walls. Several got their Belay certification. Check out the pics
• On Feb 27th, we went on a 5.4 mile hike to the White Oak Canyon Trail in the Shenandoah Mountains. We had a good time, hiking in the snow! Click here for pics.
• Our VLSC training held over the Martin Luther King Holiday was a success with about 15 youth signed up. Check out the pics.
• Congrats to Daniel on making his Eagle Rank!! Daniel is a member of Crew 1717 and Troop 1889.
• Crew Ski Trip on 8 - 10 JAN to the Mystic Mountain ski resort was a blast!  It snowed all night Friday and during the day on Saturday so we had great powder on the slopes.  Check out the pics.  We also had some great tubing.  Check out the 2 videos:  Tubing 1 | Tubing 2 Both are about 50 MB.
• Darn, we got snowed out for our Christmas Camp that we planned to do. In fact, we almost got snowed in the building after trying to have the Veg Out till 11:00! We had to bail at 10:30!
• We had a Court of Honor in November ... check out the pics
• The Crew was very cold at our last Fall Camporee! It was at Curtis Memorial Park from October 16 to 18. We helped run stations for the Boy Scouts, and we had a very Egyptian theme! We made our own costumes and everything.
• Crew 1717 had a very successful Hartwood Days on 12 September 2009. Check out the links below to find out info of this community fair.

Flag Ceremony for Walmart: The crew participated with it's sister troop, Troop 1717, in a flag ceremony for the opening of the new Walmart on Route 17. We presented the colors for the family/VIP opening ceremony.
